I’ve been a working writer for two decades, authoring thousands of magazine, newspaper and web articles, plus a dozen guidebooks about cruises and the island of Singapore. I recently co-founded QuirkyCruise.com, the world’s best and only online guide to small ship cruises under 300 passengers, from river boats to expedition vessels, oceangoing ships and sailing yachts.
While my main focus is travel writing, I’ve covered everything from business and finance to the art world, nutrition, real estate and relationships. I also dabble in press release writing and worked as an in-house editor for a multinational investment bank.
As a former (and occasionally pining) New Yorker who’s been based in Singapore for nearly a decade and travels frequently to India and the USA, moving between cultures, climates and time zones is my normal. All told, I’ve traveled to more than 75 countries and sailed on 100+ cruise ships big and small, all over the world.
As a travel expert, I’ve been quoted in The Huffington Post, USA Today, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune and other publications. I’ve been featured on the Travel Channel and interviewed for a number of radio broadcasts, including the US public TV travel series Rudy Maxa’s World.
